In 1987, Fiberlite Umbrellas was granted the first U.S. patent for a fiberglass frame umbrella. Owner and inventor, Ray Sweet, used his extensive knowledge and experience in the outdoor furniture business combined with his passion for fishing and boating to create the first fiberglass frame commercial umbrella.
After several years of erfecting the umbrella with the beach concession industry, and placing the umbrella in the extreme conditions of South Florida, Fiberlite umbrellas were thoroughly tested before they were marketed nationally. This prior testing allows Fiberlite to offer the best warranty in the industry - three years complete - covering the fiberglass frame, fiberglass pole and marine grade fabric.
Handcrated and designed exclusively in the United States, our mission statement is to continually strive to manufacture the highest quality fiberglass frame umbrellas available in the industry without ever compromisng the integrity and values that we founded our company on 20 years ago.
